Obama Appoints SMA Alumna to Head National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration

Jane Lubchenco, St. Mary’s Academy graduate of 1965, will head the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA).

NOAA works to conserving marine and coastal resources, monitors weather, and researches global warming. She will be the first woman to head the agency.
