Welcome to the warm, happy community that is St. Mary’s Academy!
As a junior kindergarten to twelfth grade Academy, the St. Mary’s Academy community is a lively and energetic one with a wonderful, rich history. We are one of the oldest institutions in Denver, a history of which we are very proud. Throughout all of our work today, we honor and cherish the memory of the three Sisters of Loretto who came to Denver City in 1864 - long before Colorado was a state and when the west was wild and just getting settled.
Today, you will find St. Mary’s Academy is rich with history, but current with a rigorous academic program that is taught with the latest teaching styles and technology. Our graduates go on to careers that enhance the future of Denver, of the country, of the world.
We are the only school in Colorado to have the unique configuration of being a co-ed Lower and Middle School and High School for Girls. Children of all ages see one another out on the playing fields or passing through the Quad or at special events when they spend time as buddies. I sometimes marvel at this sense of continuity and growth we experience every day.
As head of school, I so appreciate all the smiles, energetic play and love of learning that make this community such a special, happy place.
Come visit us and experience for yourself the sense of community and purpose that is SMA.
We excitedly look forward to celebrating our 150th year in 2014. Join us!
