10.01.10 - October at SMA: We are Buzzing!

This weekend is Reunion Weekend at St. Mary's Academy.  Today, we had a special luncheon to honor the women of the Class of 1960.  And also at the lunch were members of the Class of 1955 and many other classes previous to 1955.  What a powerful, interesting, beautiful group of women.   More than 80 fabulous, exciting interesting alumnae from St. Mary's Academy.  You can't ask for a better group to have lunch with!

This evening, the alumnae will gather for a cocktail party and be serenaded by our own SAIMARAC choir.  Such a treat!  I wonder though, will we hear the singing voices over the incredible sounds of chatter and glee while friends reconnect.  We will have to see!  Sunday we gather for mass at 11:30 followed by lunch.  What a beautiful weekend!

Also remember that this Sunday, we will gather to participate in the Race for the Cure. We have more than 100 members of the SMA team running or walking on Sunday.  Our campus is currently festooned with pink ribbons and on October 7 our volleyball game against Kent is a "Pink Game."  The girls will raise money and awareness at the game.  Have you seen our girls on the Channel 9 promo ads for the Race for the Cure?  We sure can shout!!

Also, remember that this Sunday (October 3) is Fall Festival!  Join us in the afternoon for games, food and prizes.  The campus is already showing signs of getting ready.  I love having the festival on campus -- just so much fun.

What else is on the calendar for October?  The High School participated in Community Service Day today ... next week the High School hosts a dance on Friday night.  Conferences are coming up in the Lower and Middle Schools.   The Middle School is scheduling a mixer for October 22 at 3:30.    Courage for the Journey is October 26-- a great night for Middle School boys and dads or guardians. 

And there is more, I am sure!  But whew... there's a lot going on at St. Mary's Academy.
