High School For Girls

St. Mary’s Academy High School excels at preparing young women for leadership in a global society. St. Mary’s Academy High School empowers them to become leaders, developing the analytical skills, confidence and generosity to make a difference now and in their future.
As a rigorous college-preparatory school, seminar-style classes emphasize inquiry, debate and the cooperative nature of learning. Aware of the national research that gives students in all-girls schools an edge over their coed peers, students value excellence in themselves and in their classmates and don’t shy away from being smart. Typically, girls enroll in several Advanced Placement classes and take more than the required number of course credits. SMA students are accepted to prestigious colleges, attend their first or second choice college, academically and personally equipped to pursue collegiate, post-collegiate study and any career path they choose.
Leadership opportunities abound. Girls lead as elected officers, scholar-athletes, literary magazine editors, participants in extra-curricular activities like Mock Trial and Model United Nations or players on one of 11 sports offered. Leadership within the school community flows into service to the broader community. Taking seriously their responsibility to become powerful agents of change, students have started tutoring programs for young adolescents, worked with homeless women, and each year spend spring break in New Orleans building homes.
A strong, advisory program provides a supportive, caring environment where teacher-mentors create a small, comfortable community for students to find their voice and their passion, and create friends for life.
St. Mary’s Academy graduates are accomplished, empowered women ready to make a difference in the world.
St. Mary's Academy is accredited by the Association of Colorado Independent Schools (ACIS). The High School has been accredited by North Central Association of Colleges and Schools since 1925.
