Networking Event for SMA Parents and Alumnae
SMA parents and alumnae are invited to join the St. Mary’s Academy community for an evening of networking and socializing on Thursday, March 24, from 5:30 – 9:00 p.m. in the High School Forum. The evening begins with light appetizers and a Business Showcase featuring SMA alumnae other business owners from different industries.
Panel discussions on topics relevant to today’s economy will be held throughout the evening. Aimee De Line Alley ’78 (Life Coach and Speaker) and Lori Joy (owner of 32-Solutions Ltd.) will offer career advice. These amazing women will share their insight on discovering your passion instead of just a job.
Women-owned companies are the fastest growing business in America today. Pat Tobey Durbin ’61(owner of MODA Antica), Megan Smith ’02 (owner of Unity Boutique) and Kristin Strohm ’01 (Managing Partner of Starboard Group,) will discuss running a small business. These entrepreneurial Alumnae will discuss what steps they have taken to be successful in their careers.
Financial portfolios and legal matters can change dramatically from year to year. Deirdre McGuire ’02 (GHP Financial), Jill Hochstetter Brehm ’00 (GHP Horwath) and Trude Kleess ’72 (Attorney-at-Law) will answer the tough questions about the ever changing market. The focus will be on being proactive instead of reactive to the trends of today.
Health issues are no longer treated solely with conventional medicine. Complementary and Alternative Medicine is gaining acceptance in the United State to treat a wide range of health issues. Mary Able ’82 (Acupuncturist), Alana Dalton ’01 (Chiropractor) and Catherine Hupp ’84 (Massage Therapist) will explain their specialty and when to consider a different approach to maintain your health and wellness.
The evening will conclude with time to network and socialize.
