Newspapers, tape, string: lessons in leadership
Newspapers, tape, string and non-verbal communication — this exercise in making an 8 by 8 “tent” which a group of six could huddle under without touching the top was an exercise in leadership, cooperation, bonding and just plain ol’ fun!
The annual Loretto Leadership Conference brought together elected leaders from Loretto Academy in El Paso, Nerinx Hall High School in St. Louis, and students from St. Mary’s Academy a four day experience on many aspect of leadership such as personal style, empowering students, Loretto legacy of strong femal leaders.
The event is also a bonding experience, where the leaders learn about one another’s schools, pick up good ideas to use in their school, and often stay friends for years.
As a culminating experience the students collaborate on a Loretto Leadership Statement that serves as a guide for the student association activities of the year.
