Senior a 2011 Boettcher Scholar Finalist

Congratulations to our own Caroline Parker ’11 who has been selected as a 2011 Boettcher Scholar Finalist. Caroline attended SMA Lower and Middle Schools and is now a senior in our High School.  Her teachers are extremely proud!

Boettcher St. Mary's AcademyCaroline joins SMA students Morgan Flynn ’10 and Katie Horvath ’10 in being selected to this prestigious scholarship program.

Only 40 students earn a Boettcher Scholarship in the entire state of Colorado.  Over 1,300 students apply each year.  The Boettcher Scholarship covers virtually all college expenses to a public or private Colorado college or university that the scholar chooses.

Boettcher Scholar Finalists are selected on the basis of their superior academic ability, service ethic, character and participation and leadership in school and community.  Boettcher Scholars rank among the top 5% of their graduating class and have high SAT and ACT scores.

Begun in 1952 as a statewide competition, recognizing scholarship, leadership and achievement in young men and women, the Boettcher Scholarship program has sought to reward outstanding high school seniors who demonstrate the potential to make significant contributions to Colorado. Since the program’s inception, the Foundation has awarded almost 2,300 scholarships. Today, the Boettcher Foundation provides approximately $3 million in scholarship support annually, making the program one of the largest merit-based scholarship programs in the nation.
