Students Celebrate their Heritage with the Second Annual Latino Forum
The Latina Club organized the Second Annual Latino Forum on April 16 in the Middle School. The half-day conference featured speakers, workshops and entertainment for students in the SMA community. Keynote speaker Adam Roybal, who is the Co-Director for the Post-Secondary program at Colorado UpLift, spoke about the importance of helping young people build life-changing relationships. Students also attended workshops that included reflections on confidence, social issues through hip-hop and expression through graffiti. The day ended with a poetry slam and a break dance performance.
