Helping Others in this Advent Season
The SMA Lower School worked with the Friends of St. Andrews at Queen of Peace Church on two projects. First, students volunteered for the 10th Annual Thanksgiving Basket Program, to help serve 200 households in Aurora. Then they helped with Christmas Stocking Stuffers with over 200 stockings donated, delivered and distributed by Lower School SMA families, and given to children and teens in the Aurora area.
In the Middle School, Mrs. Cencula’s Middle School CAT teamed up with Colfax Community Network to adopt a family in need during the holidays. Colfax Community Network advocates for and works on behalf of children and families residing in low-income, transient housing (primarily residential motels) along Colfax Avenue by providing information, services and programs to strengthen and improve family and community life.
